HCM Acquisition News - March 8, 2024

Every week I document recruiting and HR tech M&A announcements. I add one takeaway from each deal, then share the list with you.

Why? I receive multiple recruiting and HR tech newsletters each day. These cover so many topics, I struggle to keep up with all the headlines and to quickly find the M&A stories I care about most. (You may feel the same).

So, I compile a weekly list of “Who? acquired Who?” Here is the M&A news from this week 😉:  

March 1st-8th Deals

Workday plans to acquire AI matching tool HiredScore - AI Talent Management
Takeaway: This deal is not yet closed. WorkDay plans to add more AI tech to their product suite. Based on this announcement, the plans for integrating HiredScore's AI driven matching tech are very… broad.

Deel makes large international expansion with acquisition of PaySpace - Payrolling
Takeaway: PaySpace had 14,000 clients across several continents. This makes Deel the only payroll and EOR provider in 50 countries. Many large enterprises may now use one payroll provider across their global operations.

ZRG Exec Search acquires UK based Ignata Finance Group - Exec Search
Takeaway: This is ZRG's sixth acquisition in less than three years. They are rolling up exec search firms both in the US and globally.

Despite a difficult VC market, Remofirst (EOR provider) raises $25M series A - ($25M series A) EOR
Takeaway: More companies are looking to hire offshore / international talent. Platforms like Remofirst make the payment processing and management of an international talent base easier. This raise is significant given it’s a large series A during a not-so-great time to raise.

Leap Consulting and Newbury Partners, two HR Tech advisors join forces - Consulting
Takeaway: Staffing & recruitment is becoming more tech-enabled and firms need help to build their tech stack. With this merger, Leap will either no longer be vendor agnostic or Newbury will specialize in more vendors beyond Bullhorn. Probably a combo of the two.
